Projects

In March 2021, the IGas Community Fund awarded close to £20,000 worth of grants to support 18 projects in towns and villages close the company’s operations in the Lincolnshire, Hampshire and West Sussex. This takes the total awarded to date to over £1 million.

Grants were awarded to a variety of community projects ranging from lockable cycle racks for visitors to a nature reserve in Lincolnshire, to new bed linen and towels for a children’s hospice in Hampshire.

Money has also been allocated for improvements to community buildings and recreation areas; for equipment and development of outdoor areas for schools; for improvements to facilities at sports clubs; and for speed control signs to improve road safety.

The panel gave priority to projects which would be able to proceed on the strength of a grant from the Fund and which would benefit a wide span of the local community. It also looked for projects that would be sustainable long-term without further substantial fund-raising.
